The warm weather has reminded us that summer is coming. And that means s free music as well!

Here is a little info about what’s coming up this summer…

River to River has announced their schedule. Highlights include Phillip Glass on June 20th and George Clinton and P-Funk on July 12th.

Celebrate Brooklyn will open their 2012 season on June 5th with Reggae superstar Jimmy Cliff! But wait, there's more! Looks like we have some pre-opening shows - Booker T. Jones on May 10th, a Brazilian Dance Party on May 17th and a Cajun/Zydeco party with Terrance Simeon and the Zydeco Experience on May24th. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

There are several paid ("benefit") shows already scheduled for Central Park Summerstage, but not so many free shows yet. Rumor has it that Gavin DeGraw and Buckwheat Zydeco will be coming to the park!

The
Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival will return to the World Financial Center on July 11th & 12th with Buddy Guy, Neko Case, John Mayall and more.

The
BAM R&B series at MetroTech in Brooklyn will has also been announced, including Shemekia Copeland and NRBQ rocking the plaza on July 12th. Lincoln Center Out of Doors has released their extensive lineup as well

Madison Square Park has released their summer lineup, with highlights including Nellie McKay on July 11th, The Roche/Wainwright clan on August 1st and Bettye LaVette on August 8th. Great music and the Shake Shack to boot!
